Things to see on the coast of Brittany-third part

DinardToday we’ll continue our travel to the north of France with Dinard and Rennes. First on our list is Dinard , a very chic summer and winter choice on the coast of Brittany. The place has many magnificent beaches, elegant constructions and is called the “Cannes of the north”.

Even though our photos were taken during winter, Dinard looked very green and warm. We took a walk along the sandy, clean beach from Dinard (ÉclusePrieuré , Saint-Énogat beach) and admired the 19th century giant villas of the city. Don’t miss the walk along the sea “Promenade du Clair de Lune”,allowing you to admire these beautiful houses and their tropical plants. Some say that the famous Alfred Hitchcock used a house from Dinard as a model for his movie Psycho.

You should make some time and stop for a while in Saint Malo , situated at just 10 km from Dinard. It would be a pity to leave without seeing this walled city and port.

73 km separate Dinard from Rennes – a medium size Breton town with many students and parks, pretty nice if you’re into natural beauty , serenity and long walks.

What to do in Rennes?! Well there are plenty of choices. See the imposing Palais du Commerce and the Parlement of Brittany (booking required).Take a walk through the many botanical gardens and parks of the city . See the historic part of the town and try the local cuisine. The city hosts many interesting festivals and events along the year, so the visitors have plenty of things to do. We enumerate just a few of them: Festival Gourmand , Festival Yaouank- with traditional Breton music and dances, Festival Mythos-art and storytelling.
