Things to see on the coast of Brittany-second part

HuelgoatOur second daytrip to Brittany starts also in Brest and continues with Huelgoat, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Cairn de Barnénez and Saint Brieuc.  Looking at the pictures we can say coming here was a very good idea. First on our list and our favorite is Huelgoat, a place that offers tourists many beautiful things to see.

Huelgoat

At just 75 km away from Brest, in “Parc Naturel Régional d’Armorique” we found the picturesque village Huelgoat . At the entrance of this legendary place we could see the mill that belonged to the Dukes of Brittany  and  the artificial lake from Huelgoat.

Huelgoat’s charm is also given by its  volcanic rocks called “le Chaos” . According to legends they were supposedly created by the giant Gargantua, who was disappointed with the food from Huelgoat and generated the rocks to punish the village. What a great punishment! Don’t leave the village without wandering through Huelgoat’s beautiful green forest.

Saint-Pol-de-Léon

The second place we’ve seen on the coast was the maritime city Saint-Pol-de-Léon. What to do here?! Well see the 13th century Cathedral Saint Paul Aurelian and Notre-Dame du Kreisker chapel , admire the architecture of the city and enjoy the beach view.
